Acorus gramineus ‘Ogon’
Golden Sweet Flag
Zone 5 to Zone 9
Plant Shapes: Tuft

Sweet Flag is not a true grass, but plants have a distinctive, grassy appearance. This selection forms a low tuft or mound of narrow sword-shaped leaves that are bright glowing golden yellow. A beautiful accent plant for a moist rock garden or beside a pool or stream, this will even grow in shallow standing water. Flowers are green and insignificant. Foliage remains evergreen in mild regions but in colder climates some leaf tips may need to be trimmed with scissors in the spring to tidy them up. If clumps begin to thin out in the center, plan on dividing them during the spring.
