This selection of Soapwort is a little gem for the rock garden. It forms a low cushion or carpet of grassy green leaves, studded with large rose-pink flowers in late spring. Also useful for edging, in a gravel scree or alpine trough garden. Plants prefer a well-drained but moisture-retentive soil, and really love to spread their roots down among rocks. Especially nice growing near silver-leaved companions, such as Helianthemum. Divide plants carefully every couple of years after blooming or in early autumn, to maintain vigour. Evergreen. Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit winner (1993).
